In the American tradition of entertainment that is enjoyable for both children and adults, The Garage Theatre has blended a bit of Long Beach history with a story for all ages. This year’s old-fashioned melodrama is written by a local ne’er do well and man about town, Jamie Sweet, and marks the beginning of our Long Beach saga. A group of characters, set in the Pike during the late 1920s, bungle their way through a series of adventures as they learn lessons of love and perseverance. Terror at the Pike, or…How come there aren’t any waves in Long Beach? is an interactive experience. Children and adults alike are encouraged to participate in booing the villain and cheering for the hero. Free ice cream will be given away during intermission at every performance. The Garage Theatre hopes to open its doors to members of the Long Beach community of all ages.
