The Garage Theatre is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that is run by an all-volunteer staff. In order to fulfill our mission of providing affordable theatre that is accessible to the entire community, The Garage Theatre relies heavily on support from family, friends, neighbors in the community, and people like you. And beginning in 2023, independent theatres have had to face new financial hurdles.

In order to produce a show, theatres must apply for their rights & royalties via that script’s publishing company. Recently, these publishing companies have begun requiring payment for rights in advance; due at the time applications are accepted. Historically, The Garage has survived by using the profit of a closing show to afford all costs of the incoming one, but are now expected to provide funds for the entirety of our pronounced season upfront. As we continue to find our footing in the wake of the past few years, this feat is proving more and more difficult for our humble black box.

We ask that if you can, please become a season subscriber (where you’ll be guaranteed a ticket to all shows, drink vouchers & an extra-friend ticket) or make a tax-deductible donation.
