Welcome. This is our website. We are The Garage Theatre, an independent, non-profit, theatrical collective in Long Beach, California. We create plays and experiences where awesome and magic tend to mingle. Escapades and evenings that extend beyond your pre-imagined concepts or notions, of what a night at the theatre may entail.
We are honored to be able to share what we do with you. And we love to do it. While you’re here, please have a look around. Explore and enjoy. There are plenty of interesting paths, up in here. Up in here.
See you soon.
Peace.
So what is this Collision you’ve been hearing so much about…theatre as an expression, maintains an organic, living, breathing, collaborative nature. It is the basis of the artform. And within this structure, things change, elements reform, and particles collide. In keeping with the natural order of things, we want to share with you, our latest and greatest collision yet. Ladies and gentlemen, in 2013, The Garage Theatre is joining forces with our dear friends, and another of Long Beach’s beloved artistic cornerstones, Alive Theatre, to bring you A Collision of Theatrical Proportions. You probably already know of them, as many of them have graced our stage and entered your hearts in years gone by, in previous Garage productions. As separate companies, we have both traversed similar pathways to get to where we are today, spending years creating theatre in “found” untraditional spaces in and around the LBC. We have similar roots, dating back to Cal State Long Beach, and we feel that colliding forces with more people just like us, will only make us stronger, and create a deeper, more powerful movement for all to experience. Check out their website, alivetheatre.org if you’d like to get more of a sense of who they are, and what they have been creating over the past few years. We are very excited to step into the future together, and look forward to having you there with us.
That is all for now. So, take it all in. Drink it up and enjoy your weekend. Don’t forget to check us out on the Facebook, or wherever you like to hang out on the world wide web. Thanks for your patience, and continued support. We love ya, and could not do this without you. See you soon.
